Although it is possible to analyze the African TV market in its entirety, the free-to-air satellite dominated countries of North Africa mean that the sub-Sahara is essentially a distinct TV market in its own right and remains one of enormous potential.
The next major technological advance will be the implementation of digital terrestrial TV (DTT). Some free  DTH services, like MultiTV in Ghana, are doing well.  But, unlike the MENA region, free-to-air DTH has not yet made a big impact across sub-Sahara. This gives DTT a good chance of success
