Post Event Report Now Available @MVNOs Industry Summit Middle East

The inaugural MVNOs Industry Summit Middle East took place on 4th- 5th December in Dubai– the latest addition to the renowned international MVNOs Industry Summit Series. The event was co-located with the 17th annual Middle EastCom, providing delegates with an unparalleled opportunity to learn from and network with the wider digital audience from the region.

The two days started with keynote plenary sessions at Middle EastCom, with innovation as the theme.  Delegates heard from industry leaders Osman Sultan, CEO of duKhalifa Al Shamsi, Chief Digital Services Officer at EtisalatGoogle’s Mohamad MouradAyman Irshaid, CEO of Areeba Areeba and Olivier Rozay of Pinger.  Panel discussions featured the CEO’s from NawrasBatelcoUmniah and Virgin Mobile Middle East and Africa, and representatives from NokiaRIM, d1g.com, SOUQ.com, On Demand Group and MBC, covering the full scope of the digital ecosystem.
The MVNO sessions were opened by Virgin Mobile Middle East and Africa’s CEO Mikkel Vinter.  The merger between Friendi and Virgin was big news for the MVNO market in 2012.  Last week also saw the announcement that Oman Brunei Investment Companyhas bought a majority share in Omani MVNO Renna.  Not only was this good news forRenna as they develop expansion plans, but it also gave a boost to the prospect of MVNOs in the region.
There remains much potential for MVNO success in the Middle East.  Once regulation is resolved there is likely to be great interest in entering this market and we look forward to seeing what progress has been made at the next event, in September 2013!
In the meanwhile follow the MVNOs Industry Summit Series blog for industry news from the Middle East.
We look forward to meeting you in Dubai in September 2013
